Dear friends,
At ABCS, we talk about hope regularly. After all, it is our mission.
Together, we serve families who are in seasons that can feel hopeless. Most of us know that life and ministry do not exist without challenges. But as followers of Christ, we are given the power to overcome the troubles that come our way through the Holy Spirit.
Paul tells us in Romans 5:3-5 that suffering leads us on the path to building endurance and growing our character. When we persevere through hard moments and conform to the image of Christ, the outcome is hope. And not just any hope, but the kind that cannot be dulled, even during the greatest of life’s difficulties. Our desire is that every client we serve will experience this for themselves.
People come through our doors across the state enduring incredible hardship and leave with support. The care clients receive through our staff and volunteers is not only through the services provided or the material support received. You will see in the pages ahead the most impactful moments come from experiencing the love of God and entering into a relationship with Jesus. Your support makes this work possible.
Throughout 2023, we connected with longtime partners and met new friends of the ministry. We enjoyed seeing people face-to-face and sharing the ways God has been at work. You can read more about the events on pages five and six.
One thing is clear in both the celebratory moments and obstacles we face: God is nothing but faithful. We are filled with gratitude as we think about how He consistently changes lives through everyone involved at ABCS. Hope is shining bright in dark places and that wouldn’t be possible without you. Thank you for all you do to make a difference in your community and across Arizona.
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5
