Share Why You Care

In the late summer, supporters of Arizona Baptist Children’s Services & Family Ministries (ABCS) were invited to do something new. The campaign was called “Share Why You Care,” an invitation for supporters to express to the team at ABCS and others the heart behind their involvement.

At ABCS, we often talk about impact, like children being placed in safe homes, families receiving encouragement and individuals encountering the love of Christ. But this campaign turned the focus to supporters. Because behind every story of hope is someone who chose to step in, to give, to pray or to serve.

The Invitation to Share

The invitation to participate was sent out in a letter, on social media and through personal emails. The goal was to hear from the people who move forward the work of ABCS through their faithfulness. Every meal provided, every counseling session sponsored, every child placed in a stable home is a moment made possible through partnership.

We know each person who chooses to walk alongside ABCS has a reason for their involvement. Which is where the idea came from! We wanted to encourage those who might be newer to the work of ABCS through the testimonies of the many people and groups the Lord has graciously brought to the ministry to provide hope and care to hurting children and families.

Encouraging Responses

Nearly 60 people took the time to share why they care. In the middle of busy schedules, supporters reflected on what drew them to ABCS and why this mission matters to them. The responses we received were powerful.

Some of the individuals shared personal experiences. Telling of hardship they went through firsthand. Their involvement is spurred by an understanding of the difference that support, stability and compassion can make in a difficult season. A note from a grandmother expressed, “ABCS was able to provide counseling for my young granddaughter who lived with us for two years. Her counselor was able to work through emotional issues and give her the needed tools to help her remain a child and not to assume adult roles, especially when she returned to her mom. Thank you ABCS!”

Others stated how God stirred in their heart. A calling that led them to step forward in faith and become part of a collective group working to tangibly show the love of Jesus in communities across Arizona. Like a volunteer at New Life Pregnancy Center, “It became simple to me once I grasped an understanding of God’s grace. The gift of His love and forgiveness, and free access to an eternity in God’s presence, has literally changed my life. My belief, and subsequent gratitude, has created a desire to repay this gift through serving the neighbors in need who God places in my path. It is the very least I can do. Serve.”

And many expressed a desire to be a part of the greater mission of ABCS. Knowing their support is helping bring light into places that need it most. One donor explained with one clear sentence, “I know many people need help and like to do what I can.”

Making a Difference Together

Together, the collective story is more than any single program or initiative. It is a reminder that this ministry is not just about what happens through ABCS, it’s about what God is doing through each person involved.

Each response shows that support is not transactional; it is transformational. It flows from compassion, conviction and a desire to see lives changed.

The “Share Why You Care” campaign remains an open invitation to reflect, engage and continue stepping forward in faith. Anyone can submit a response by visiting abcs.org/share.

Each person who partners in the work of ABCS is making a difference. We are grateful for all the people who make it possible to serve our communities across the state.
