A New Chapter
New Life Transitional Program (NLTP) is dedicated to cultivating purpose, identity and life-change through mentoring, counseling and life skills training. Over the years, and still today, the program has been shaped to best serve women walking through recovery from addiction or reentry after incarceration.
The hope is that each participant would successfully transition into independent living and grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. For those who choose to participate wholeheartedly, the transitional program has the potential to be truly life changing.
The program focuses on the spirit, heart, mind and body, inviting women into a process of renewal and deeper trust in God. Or for many, learning for the first time what it means to trust in God.
Meet the Director
Earlier this year, Alexandria (“Alex”) Romero stepped into the role of Director for the New Life Transitional Program. While the program already had a strong foundation, Alex brought a fresh perspective to enhance an already impactful ministry.
With a heart for women and children, she began restructuring the program to align with the vision God placed on her heart for program for this season. She’s passionate about providing each participant with focused mentorship, and to support that goal, she introduced a quarterly application process in order to maintain the ability to provide individualized attention to each new participant.
Because her team is small, this structure creates space for more intentional relationships between mentor and mentee, ensuring that each woman receives the support she needs.
The Launch
The restructuring phase wrapped up in September, and by October, the team began processing new applications. So far, they’ve received 11 applications and completed five interviews with potential participants.
Alex and her team are planning to launch in January 2025—at a pace that is healthy and sustainable for their current capacity.
Looking ahead, the goal is to welcome one additional client each quarter. But this growth depends on God’s provision—specifically for committed volunteers and faithful supporters.
We are filled with anticipation and gratitude at what God has in store for New Life Transitional Program.
