Faith in Action at Caring Ministries
Volunteers are vital to the work of Caring Ministries, a part of ABCS’ Community Resource Centers ministry. They make it possible to serve thousands of families every year. One of those faithful volunteers is Jaime Orozco.
Jaime has been serving with Caring for several years. You can usually find him here on Fridays, unloading trucks, tidying up the property and sharing the Gospel with those receiving food boxes. Jaime uses his testimony to share the story of how God rescued him during a time of homelessness. Now, his gift of evangelism allows him to connect with others in their own seasons of hardship, always pointing them back to the hope he found in Jesus Christ.
The team at Caring has come to know and deeply care for both Jaime and his wife, Maria. Their kindness and generosity are reflected in everything they do. Maria often sends Jaime with homemade Mexican dishes to share with the team. The moment the food arrives, it draws everyone to the kitchen. This thoughtful gesture is a blessing to the crew.
Trials Met with Unshakable Faith
Earlier this year, the Orozcos faced a series of unexpected challenges. When they suddenly needed a place to live, we were thankful to have an available living space that they could move into right away. Not long after, their adult daughter was involved in a serious car accident that left her in critical condition. While she continues her recovery, Jaime and Maria remain unwavering in their service. Their faith and resilience are a powerful testimony to God’s sustaining grace.
God’s Provision Through Community
We have been able to pray with Jaime and his family for various request that have come up in this last season. It has been a blessing to see many of the prayers get answered. One prayer need was met by a fellow volunteer. Jaime shared that his family needed a reliable car for transportation to doctor’s appointments. Without hesitation, Rich, one of our trusted volunteer mechanics stepped in. He had a vehicle he no longer needed and chose to bless the Orozcos with it. Watching one volunteer meet the need of another in such a tangible way reminded us all of God’s perfect provision and timing.
We praise God for bringing the Orozcos and Rich to Caring Ministries. Their stories intersected here in a way only He could orchestrate. We are grateful for their faithfulness, and for all the volunteers who make this ministry possible.
