Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:6

As a child, I learned this verse in a song. It has always been a good reminder to me that God isn’t finished with my story yet. He started and will complete a good work in me. Recently, I had someone quote this same scripture to remind me of when completion happens. It is not here on earth that He will carry His good work to completion, but once we have left our earthly bodies behind. This side of heaven, His work in us is taking place, but it won’t be completed until we see Him face to face. I get short-sighted sometimes, hoping that He would just make my current challenge His good work completion. I was grateful for the reminder that when His work is complete, our time on earth will end. It’s an eternal view of today’s challenge that makes such a difference.
