We’ve continued to ask different people to tell us about their “why” in their ministry area, today we hear about parent aide from Alison Stuart, Parent Aide Administration.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28: 18-20
While being in an administrative role is still very new for me, I continue to think about my “why” for being with ABCS. My “why” began like many others’: I wanted to help people and work for an organization where others shared my beliefs, values and overall purpose. While that remains as my “why” here in the ministry, I now have a still. While I may not be in the field, I am still able to reach people in different ways. Such as simply listening to a foster mother speak about her situation during their first communication with us, or sharing more information about our pregnancy centers, resource centers or counseling to clients, placements and those in the neighborhood. I may not be out there, working one on one with those who need us, but I can still make an impact on those who we are called to serve and can build those relationships through trust and respect.
