We’ve asked a few different people to tell us about their “why” in their ministry area, today we hear about New Life Pregnancy and Community Resources Centers from Rachel Ramey.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. Psalm 147:3-5
I love these verses because they remind me that our God is a personal God. Even though in all His majesty He knows the countless stars, He also knows our hearts and cares for us and our hurt. In the New Life Pregnancy Centers and in the Community Resource Centers we have the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life, many of whom have never been shown respect or been told they are valuable and loved. The woman who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant, the refugee who is adjusting to life in a new country, the aging adult struggling to provide on a fixed income, and the tiny baby growing in the womb – all these are known by our Creator God. As we serve these individuals with diapers, food, clothing or a free pregnancy test we have the privilege of affirming their value and pointing them to God who created them, knows their every need, and is inviting them into relationship with him through Jesus Christ.
