ABCS Weekly Devotional: Never Left Alone

We’ve continued to ask different people to tell us about their “why” in their ministry area, today we hear about parent aide from Jeff Morrison.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. – Deuteronomy 31:6

This verse has been a touchstone for me since my first year of college. I was really struggling with something and praying, and I felt a peace and a voice deep inside me say that, “He will never leave me or forsake me.” Some people wear a cross around their neck, I hide this verse deep in my heart. When I am worried or frightened or just need reassurance, God brings it to mind again. To me, it means that through all the storms, life’s crazy roller coaster moments and when I doubt, I know that the God of the universe loves me and knows me and will never leave me alone, even to death. It does not mean that He will always make everything perfect but He will be walking with me through it.
